Yoko Ono created a ”Wish Tree for Washington, D.C” that was installed in the Hirshhorn Museum’s Sculpture Garden. Over a two-month period in the summer visitors can tie their hand-written wishes written on white tag tied with white string to the branches. Then, these pieces of paper are shipped to the artist who places them in her ”Imagine Peace Tower” in Reykjavik, Iceland, where more than 1 million wishes from various wish trees globally have been collected.
So, what wish would you write would you write for the wish tree?
I wish that i could go back to the past and advise my younger self. My younger self may or may not take my advice but I do hope that there was someone to tell me, “Do you really think he is the right one?”, “Are you sure that this will make you happy?”, “Will this help you achieve your goal?” and most importantly, “Will you regret this?”. I was the type of person whose actions were based on my emotions first then the rational thinking kicked in when i regretted my decisions. I could have made better choices if i thought things out more. Just maybe… I could be a “whole” person now if I did not make the choices I did, if someone would scream, ” ARE YOU REALLY SURE?!” at me at that point in time. I doubt my decisions would change anyways, I am still such a stubborn person. BUT, I wish I could talk some sense into my younger self.
