Thinking About the Dreamers — How Must They Feel

The Trump administration wants to shut down a program that shields some 700,000 young undocumented immigrants from deportation. These young people, often called ‘’Dreamers,’’ had been brought to the United States illegally as young children. Many of them are in college or have graduated and have begun building their careers. They could remain in legal limbo for many months unless Congress acts to make their status permanent.  Put yourself in the shoes of these immigrants as they deal with the uncertainty of whether they will be forced to leave this country.   What must they be thinking and fearing?  You can also create a comic strip about the dreamers at Your characters can also debate whether they should be allowed to remain in the United States.
